A partial ban on animal testing for cosmetics has been established in Brazil by the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation via regulatory restriction No. 58. Animal testing for beauty ingredients with ‘known effects’ are now prohibited, thus requiring the use of alternative testing methods.
