Any problems must be reported to MatTek within 30 days.

Orders of 3 sleeves of MatTek Dishes or fewer cannot be returned.

Shipping Time

Standard Orders

How long will it be before my standard order will ship?
If products are in stock, shipments will be processed within 1-2 business days. Overnight expedited delivery is available (at cost).

Special Orders

How long will it be before my special order glass bottom dishes will ship?
For special order glass bottom dishes, lead times are typically 4-8 weeks. The lead time mainly depends on the batch sterilization, which occurs once every 6 weeks (All dishes are sterilized off-site using gamma irradiation). The lead time can be shortened to 2-4 weeks if an initial order can be shipped non-sterile (In this case, the customer will need to sterilize the dishes for 30 minutes under the UV light in a cell culture hood. With proper planning, subsequent orders would be sterilized in the normal manner using gamma).For more accurate lead times on specific orders, please ask our customer service representatives.

Free Samples

How long will it be before my free samples will ship?
Precise delivery dates for Free Samples are not guaranteed. Shipment is usually made within 5 business days. If your project is time-sensitive, please do not schedule your experimental research based on receiving your requested free sample dish/plate.

Shipping and Arrival Timelines

Tissue Orders

How long will it be before my order will ship?
MatTek tissues are made-to-order and take anywhere from 3-6 weeks lead time from the date ordered to the date of scheduled shipment. Product is shipped on Mondays via overnight service for delivery on Tuesday morning.

Carriers

What carrier should I use?
FedEx, historically the most reliable and cost-effective service, is MatTek’s primary carrier. Customers are welcome to choose their shipper (FedEx, UPS, DHL, World Courier, or Biocair) at the time of ordering with the option to provide their own shipping account number to cover the cost.

Timing

How long are the tissues good for?
Tissues are high-value, perishable commodities akin to donor organs, with a narrow window of viability. They should be unpacked immediately upon arrival, re-equilibrated according to MatTek protocols, and experiments begun immediately. Lifespan in culture is dependent upon conditions and exposures.
