IN VITRO SCREENING TECHNIQUES IN DERMATOLOGY.

Abstract

To avoid skin irritation and allergies from cosmetic products, the raw materials should be screened during product development. In vivo screening techniques are best. The author describes two in vitro models (cell culture and living skin equivalent) and several in vitro tests (percutaneous absorption, toxicity, melanogenesis, wound healing, antiaging, and cell proliferation and differentiation).
