"The purpose of the meeting is to further the research and knowledge of toxicology at academic, industry, and government levels and to promote European research in the field of toxicology worldwide.

The role and the potential of European toxicology is in fact very high in light of its impact on public health, the environment and its social implications.
The political and economic process of European unification makes the common approach and resolution of toxicological problems concerning human and environmental health mandatory."
