Summary: Analysis of epidermal proteins from irritant-treated in vitro epidermal models by proteomics is a promising approach to detect new markers of human skin irritation. These data provide a more comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms involved in the skin irritation response. It is possible that some of these may provide novel markers of skin irritation.
