Welcome to the MatTek Web site!
If this is your FIRST visit, please click on the following link to see a detailed MatTek Web Site Index.
MatTek Corporation produces ready-to-use, normal, human cell-derived, fully differentiated, 3-D, organotypic in vitro TISSUE equivalents. Our standardized TISSUE production process, in place for over 10 YEARS, has made MatTek a world leader in the production of bio-engineered human TISSUE constructs.
MatTek reconstituted human TISSUE equivalents are mitotically and metabolically active, closely mimic their in vivo counterparts, both structurally and biochemically, and do so with unsurpassed, guaranteed long-term reproducibility.
Use of MatTek ready-to-use human TISSUE equivalents refines, reduces, and/or replaces traditional animal-based testing, eliminates cross-species extrapolation errors, and enables genomic, proteomic, and drug delivery / discovery research not possible with traditional animal, monolayer cell culture or clinical test procedures.
MatTek ready-to-use human TISSUE products include 4 skin equivalents (EpiDerm, EpiDerm-FT, MelanoDerm and Melanoma), a corneal (EpiOcular), a tracheal/bronchial (EpiAirway), a buccal (EpiOral), a gingival (EpiGingival), and an ectocervico-vaginal (EpiVaginal) equivalent.
MatTek has also added Human Dendritic Cells to its product offering.
If your product will come in contact with human epithelial TISSUES, or is designed to interact with or permeate this TISSUE type, then you should include the appropriate MatTek human cell-derived epithelial TISSUE equivalent in your product testing protocol.
Note: All MatTek products are for research use only. Not for use in animals, humans, or diagnostic procedures.
